Skye & Danny's Evergreen Engagement Photoshoot:

To celebrate Skye & Danny's engagement, Skye's sister reached out to book an engagement photoshoot. One of the first questions they had was whether they could bring their dog, and of course, the answer was yes! When it came to selecting a location, they wanted something close to Denver that would still showcase the beauty of Colorado, with stunning mountain views and water. Thankfully, I knew the perfect spot!

Important Considerations When Choosing a Location for Your Engagement Session

Here are a few things I keep in mind when helping couples select the ideal location for their engagement photos.

1. Location, Location, Location

When choosing the perfect spot for your engagement shoot, it's essential to think about how far you're willing to travel. We can stay close to Denver or venture into Summit County — it all depends on your vision for the session and the type of backdrop you're hoping to have. For some couples, the vibrant downtown Denver vibe is perfect, while others might prefer a more intimate studio session.

2. Pet-Friendly Options

If you're like me and consider your dog a part of the family, you’ll want them included in your photos! That’s why I always ask if your dog will be joining us. If they are, we’ll discuss key details such as the best location for pets, any potential triggers that could cause reactivity (like other dogs, bikes, etc.), and whether you'll need an extra hand. Having someone else along to walk your dog, hold their leash while we take pictures, or give them treats can be a huge help, especially since dogs can get tired during the shoot.

3. Outfit Changes

You’re welcome to change outfits as many times as you'd like during your session (typically 2-3 wardrobe changes work best). Changing outfits at different locations can give your photos a fresh look, making each set of photos feel like a completely new session with a new backdrop and style.

4. Accessibility

Some locations can be more physically challenging to access, so it’s important to have an open discussion with your photographer about your needs. If you're unable to hike, need to avoid stairs, or require nearby restrooms, don't hesitate to let me know. Your comfort and ease during the session are my top priority, and we’ll find a location that works for you!
